How it works

Step 1
Choose your helpers
Invite the people on your HR or Recruiting team who have time to help. Their seats are included.
Step 2
Each person decides
Everyone you sponsor is asked whether they’d like a helper, and told exactly what a helper would see and never see. It’s their choice, and the default is no.
Step 3
One caseload each
You see who said yes, so you can assign them. Vector suggests even caseloads; you can move anyone.
Step 4
The help, recorded
Helpers work inside Vector: sessions, tasks, feedback, résumé reviews, introductions and Open Doors to their own network. Each action is recorded as it happens.
Step 5
Leadership’s report
Totals of the help given, month by month, with an attestation and a ledger for your auditors. Never a person.
The person decides
Nobody’s search is visible to your company unless they choose a helper.
Before choosing, each person reads who the helper is, exactly what they’ll see, and what they never see. They can change any item, or stop, at any time, and access ends straight away.
What their helper sees
- Only the items the person chose: their search strategy and target companies, applications and the stage each is at, weekly activity, and documents only if they turn them on
- The tasks, feedback and session notes the two of them share
What a helper never sees
- Their private notes
- Their contacts, and messages with anyone else
- Their offer terms
- Documents, unless the person chooses to share them
- Anyone who didn’t choose a helper
What your company sees
- HR: who chose a helper, so it can assign one, and nothing of their search
- Everyone else, leadership included: totals across many people, never a person
- Any figure small enough to point at one person is withheld
The record and the report
Help you can stand behind publicly.
Every helper action is recorded by Vector when it is taken, time-stamped and never edited, and the person can read their own record. Leadership reads the totals.

- How is this different from your standard outplacement?
- Everything in the standard service is here: the full Vector job search product with an AI coach and career counselor built in, your choice of when you pay, and results as a group. Direct Assistance adds your own people as helpers, for those who want one, with every bit of help recorded and reported.
- Does our company see anyone’s search?
- No. Only a helper the person chose sees anything, and only the items they share. HR sees who chose a helper, so it can assign one. Everyone else at your company sees totals only.
- Can someone change their mind?
- Yes. They can switch any item off, or stop working with a helper, at any time in their own settings. Access ends straight away, and what the helper already did stays on their record.
- Who can be a helper?
- Whoever you invite. Most companies choose people on their HR or Recruiting team who have time to help and know the market. Each helper sees only their own caseload.
- What does it cost?
